Welcome to the Course

The purpose of this webinar is to enhance the comprehension of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants’ role in the Unaccompanied Children population, as well as the Office of Refugee Resettlement reunification process, and Unaccompanied Children (UC’s) as a population. Participants will also gain insight into the legal safeguards that uphold UC students’ educational access and rights. Additionally, attendees will dive into the challenges UCs might encounter during school enrollment and discover effective strategies for fostering a seamless integration into the U.S. education system.

Training Objectives:

  • Increase understanding of USCRI, the ORR reunification process, and Unaccompanied Children (UC)
  • Build familiarity with laws that protect and support UC students’ educational access and rights
  • Understand the barriers that UCs may experience throughout the school enrollment process
  • Explore and understand best practices for working with UCs to ensure a positive integration into the U.S. education system
